WordPress was recommended to me as the best platform to speak from. I have enjoyed the interface that it provides and impressed with the customisation that can be done to the core blog by using the masses of themes, widgets and plugins.

I have seen many blogs that are so crammed with a multitude of social networking integrations, stats, badges and other add-ons that they distract from the written posts. I am trying to minimise the ‘junk‘ around my blog and keep it as clean as possible.

So Long Facebook

Today I became a nobody. Today I chose to turn my back on Facebook and removed myself from it’s website totally. I did not just deactivate my account, on the off chance I would change my mind. I took the dramatic step to delete my account and any information I have previous posted onto the website.

Yes, you can actually remove yourself from Facebook!

When I first signed up for my glossy new profile page I was all excited that I would be able to connect with all my old school friends and also my current friends and colleagues I have gained since full-time employment. I was impressed that so many primary and secondary school friends wanted to find me and soon my friends list was swelling with long forgotten names and faces.

Several messages were sent out and a few messages received over the initial ‘honeymoon‘ stage. Even the applications and games gave a little light relief while scanning the expanse to search for more people to add to my collection.
